The Founders and Directors of KCIS are Deborah Isharaza and Rebecca Bandora. Originally from the UK and Tanzania respectively, both Deborah and Rebecca are married to Ugandans and have been settled in Uganda for nearly 20 years between them.
Deborah has spent more than 20 years working in project management in Education and Health both in the UK and in Africa. She holds an MSc Human Resource Management for International Development and is a qualified English teacher. She has taught English and Maths in Australia and Tanzania, worked as a Teaching Assistant in England, and has run her own successful child development programme in the UK. Her work in Uganda has seen her overseeing education and health programmes in more than 200 schools regularly training teachers and peer educators on curriculum content and non-formal education methods.
Rebecca is an accomplished organisational development professional with more than 14 years experience in project leadership, finance management, recruitment, coaching, policies formulation and process/change facilitation. Rebecca holds an MBA in Human Resources and IT Management and has worked as Head of Human Resources for both small and large international companies, where she established a reputation as an excellent coach and mentor across departments, focussing on developing a strong team with continuous strategic planning and capacity building throughout each organisation.
Deborah and Rebecca are both passionate about education and all of their primary aged children attend the school. They have a strong presence in the school and sit on the Senior Management Team with the Head of Learning to ensure the high standards set and the school culture are maintained.
